Maybe you could teachhenna at the schools in your area as special thing for art classes, or maybe when social studies classes are doing a section on the Middle East, North Africa or Asia. You may not think you have much to offer on the subject but if all you do is give a brief history (and CCJ will help you with loads of material for teaching) and then a demonstration, putting henna into the kids hands you will be a hit. You could also do a similar type of class at the local library...you could have a class for little kids and then another one for older kids and/or adults. Maybe there are others in your town that are interested or involved in similar activities like bellydancing, drumming, arts etc....something international/ethnic. You could work with them to create an event, maybe in a public park or as part of some kind of festival where you did demonstrations, or raised money for a charity. Those are just some things off the top of my head. Hopefully others will come up with ideas as well. I would also suggest that you email CCJ (catherine cartwright jones) as she is sure to have a ton of ideas to share with you.
