Hmmm... i have a thought...Posted by Nick on July 14, 2001 at 00:21:38: In reply to: Medium stain + re-applied henna = LIGHTER stain?! posted by BarefootSophie on July 13, 2001 at 21:11:43: Perhaps the acid of the second application leaches out the dye fromthe first application?? I say this because once while i was getting ready to henna, i had let my bowl of paste sit overnight, and all the dye had risen to the top, you know what i mean? I realized that it was a little too thik, so i put in a few drops of lemon juice. And what should happen but the areas that the lemon touched turned bright green, and the dye was carried away with the lemon... just a thought.. ~NIck : I'm really frustrated by this... I tried to do a fresh overlay of : henna part of a design that didn't turn out as dark as the rest. I : left it on just as long as I had the first time, figuring a little : darker would be less noticeable than a little lighter. When I took off : the paste, the spot I had hennaed was even lighter than it had been : before. Now the rest of the design was a mahogany color except for a : milk-chocolate patch! Has anyone else seen this phenomenon? Got any : ideas on how to correct it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. : : Thanks! : Sophie
