Why the plan is for late winter and not fallPosted by Kenzi on July 18, 2001 at 04:47:34: In reply to: Re: Will Somebody PLEAZE Henna My Other Hand Weekend n NYC posted by Christine on July 18, 2001 at 01:19:04: In my discussions with various people interested in a NYC hennagathering we agreed that late winter would work best for many of us. Catherine, for one, won't be available until then. I have a business and am very busy until after Christmas. It is right before most henna seasons start to get busy. Also, for those people in school or working in school late Feb./early March are usually slow times and there are often spring breaks scheduled for this time. As for concerns about the weather, I understand that there are people who don't know what to do when it snows or drops below 60 degrees. Having grown up in Michigan I find NYC winters pathetic and wimpy, but I understand that not everyone feels the same way. I can tell you that late Feb./early March is can range between 40 and 50 degrees. Snow is pretty rare, but you never know. In addition, we won't necessarily spend a lot of time out of doors during this event. I picture more of a cozy get together, where we sip tea, do henna, learn practice, explore and also do some shopping trips to ethnic neighborhoods, try out great restaurants, indulge in music and dancing etc. I am sure that the companionship and the collective passion for henna will keep you warm!
