I think that most if not all of the suppliers listed here have non-
dangerous stuff, so on a physical level, they're fine.

BUT if the average Jane thinks that henna is supposed to be black,
she may not accept the real stuff. This is a bummer for those of us
that only use the real henna, but that's the way business runs, so I
can deal with that. Where I get concerned is that if she gets it
black once and it's safe, she will not think twice about letting
other people apply black to her, and they may not be using anything
so friendly. I believe that anyone who helps get Jane into this
situation is partially responsible for and to her.

This is different if it is not presented as henna. Call it body art
or temporary tattoo and hopefully she'll be able to tell the
difference.
