hahaha! Another pale Anne!Posted by Anne Beltestad on July 19, 2001 at 17:47:34: In reply to: goth skin posted by Anne in CT on July 19, 2001 at 15:42:38: First of all it is totally untrue that paler people don't stain! It'sabout Ph and circulation, not pigment. That's why when I'm really athletic and *not* just about to get my period, my hands will go black cherry. Regularly. Like you, Anne, I am not gothic but sort of a recovering goth. I wear mostly black (for hennaing I add red, purple, and silver), and I mostly burn, although can tan a bit too. I have a reddish-blue tinge to my coloring (what in the 80s was called "winter") with blondish-brownish hair and hazel eyes. I have always wanted red or black hair to be more naturally goth, but after learning about PPD there is no WAY I'll dye it again! And guess what - I always get good, consistent stains, unless I forget about lotion or sunscreen. going back into the crypt now, Anne Beltestad Gilded Lilies, Seattle : Hej, : : Okay, your pale client may not be a goth, but I sometimes turn into a : closet one - after all, I have the pale skin, the black clothes, the : deep red lipstick, the odd-coloured nail polish. No piercings yet, : though. And I was into henna long before it got trendy in goth : culture (I bought my first henna kit and bindi pack at the goth store : in the mall). : : Even with the pale "my goddesss Anne, you look like you're dead" skin : (especially in the winter, when I can't burn), I've never had trouble : getting a good stain with henna unless it was bad henna or I've : forgotten that I have sun block on. I believe CCJ mentioned that she : has pale skin and gets great stains, also. : : I think it has more to do with an individual's body chemistry than : not. : : Anne
