I don't think that they actually use black henna themselves (tho Ican ask) - they already warn people not to use it anyway. Most of
their designs seem to be with the paste on.
The thing about henna in India is that most people still don't really
consider the toxic properties of PPD and the like. So they still ask
for it, and big-name artists like these will supply them without a
second thought in order to get the business. Perhaps I'll email Usha
and Ekta about it with the question, though.
