I haven't had any rude comments since we moved to Tuscaloosa, but I
got a lot of the heathen/devil worshiper nonesense when we lived in
Jasper. There are certainly a lot of pluses to living in a college
town, there are quite a lot of people here who actually know what it
is! And even the one's who don't know with henna is are interested in
finding out more about it.

Like everyone else has said, rudeness of any kind is usually best
ignored. Yeah I know it would feel really good to just tell someone
off, but it doesn't feel that good afterwards when it sinks in that
you've been just as rude as them.
