well know by whom?Posted by Catherine Cartwright Jones on August 1, 2001 at 18:36:59: In reply to: activity posted by khoa on August 1, 2001 at 15:55:35: : Well it's a known fact that your palms and your feet exfoliate the: quickest, so it may be that due to eccess friction of the area is : causing rapid exfoliation. I find that the palms fade real fast : too. Hope this helps. Whaaa? Well know by whom? Palms and feet fade slowest by far! Henna stains best on keratinized skin, and palms and feet are the most keratized, from abrasion, on the whole body. I"ve had soles last 6 weeks, and palms last 5 on some clients, where central body lasts 3- 5 days! The depth of epidermal cellular layer on palms and soles can be over 40 cells deep, up to 80 cells deep when calloused, whereas average skin is no more than 24, and thin skin can be 5 cells. Now ... if you're under stress from work, disease or menstruation... you body exfoliates suddenly. That is often the cause of sudden demise. Other factors can be change in water supply, such as the waterworks dumping extra chlorine into a summertime water supply when the flora gets busier than usual. I regularly do henna wrapped front to back of feet and hands so I'm very familiar with the progression of demise, and the more keratinized skin ALWAYS holds stain the longest! I've got one spot on my palm remaining now from the Sirius Mix test pix (rather greenish it is, too ...) and all the rest is long gone. Back of hand demises first, fingers second, palm side of fingers third (starting from fingertips down) then palm last.
