Mortar and Pestle

Has anyone used a mortar and pestle to mix their henna? I always get
annoyed at any kinds of lumps in my paste and a spoon doesn't always
do the trick. I never thought of a mortar and pestle before and
suddenly it seems like the best idea in the world. I'm planning to
pick up a set at Crate and Barrel sometime this week. What do you
all think?
