I need a bit of advice!Posted by Sarah on August 13, 2001 at 05:32:04: Hello all,I hope this note finds you all well and happily hennaed. I am looking for a few answers and a bit of advice if you would be willing to spare some. First of all, I mixed up a batch of paste the other night, just lemon, powder, and sugar then left it to sit. The next day I terped it and let it set for a few hours. I used Tea tree oil and Eucalyptis oil just to note that. My little sister wanted her feet done again so I loaded up my J bottle to set to work. The weird thing was that the paste sat in bottle shape in the bottle, you know like canned dog food keeps the can shape. I just figured it was a little thick so I started to work. Oddly, a strange greenish oily liquid came out of the J bottle before the paste, which I might add was murder trying to squeeze out. Any thoughts on where the green liquid came from? It feathered out *the liquid* on my lil sis's foot and when I tried to dab it off with a paper towel it simply remained. After doing enough to make a simple but pretty design, I gave up and dumped the paste it was that bad, and the green liquid was disturbing. Any thoughts? Secondly, and finally, as you know I work at walmart here, any time someone shows a genuine interest in being hennaed I give them my email address, I don't know I just feel safer giving it out to strangers, and I check it more often than the answering machine. Anyhow, I gave this woman and her 7 year old daughter my addy and told her to drop me a letter if she was truely interested. Well, I saw her again yesterday at work and she remembered me and said she was going to email me soon. However she wanted to find out if I could do henna for a little kids' party. Any suggestions or advice on this? I'm hesitant to do henna for little kids without parental consent and knowing allergies and such, so I'd probably draw up a wavier and/or a permission form thingie, but other than that I'm really unsure as to whether or not I should do it. I don't have much experience, and that is why I'm kind of giving out my addy to get skin to practice on. Can someone please lend a few thoughts? She offered to pay me a sort of blanket, by the hour fee for doing the party, but I'm not sure if I could do it. Any suggestions? Please help! I could use the money and think I have enough simple designs in my repitore that I could do kids, but again the parental permission thing... I'm just so unsure. Thanks, and Blessings, Sarah
