I have a microtek flatbed scanner and PhotoImpact version 4.2 by
Ulead Systems. Can't tell you much else about it except that it
wasn't too expensive (as far as hardware goes)...maybe $200.00 total.
I don't usually do anything to the pictures. Just crop them and add
the little border around the edge. The color doesn't come out as
dark as it really is on my hand but it's close.
