henna and guten tagPosted by Natasha Papousek on August 17, 2001 at 21:24:46: Hallo from beautiful Goettingen in Germany. I've been visiting herefor a couple weeks, and have finally been able to log in for a few minutes. I had the most lovely experience Wednesday. I met a henna artist in the Tourist Info shop last week and we rendez-vous-ed (just verbed a noun there) at a cafe early Wednesday evening. He had been using a premix and was curious about my recipe -- and so we talked about the recent recipe discoveries on the forum (in a mix of broken English and German). Then we traded designs. I had found some cajeput oil in a Naturalisch Kosmetik shop and had made up a killer mix -- wow! The combo of cajeput oil and unusually hot weather made a very fast-staining mix (it even stained the children of some friends in less than 1 hour!). I did a Moroccan inspired design on my new friend -- and he did an Indian-inspired flower on me. I'll be able to post photos once I get home next week. I also found a book in German on henna at a fleamarket. That was a fun find! German is close enough to English that I can understand the gist of the text and the pictures are universal. BTW, it was published in '98 and lists the Forum as an internet resource (the old Oxford address, though) It's just brilliant how henna opens doors. I;ve met tons of great people because of henna and the info learned on this forum.
