Question for CCJ and others about fading of terped stainsPosted by Kenzi on September 5, 2001 at 04:31:27: Studying my stains from terped henna I can see what you mean that isdoesn't go through the pumpkin stage, just from brown to nothing. What seems to be happening is that when the design is new there are lots of brown stained skin cells really close together, and as the design gets older, there are fewer brown spots, or rather they are less dense. Nothing is orange, the color is still brown but there are fewer cells that seem to be dyed. Does this make any sense? This is just my perception of what is going on, but I am curious to know what is going on there, scientifically speaking. Why does terped skin fade this way, whereas non-terped skin fades through shades of orange?
