what happened??

I made some Henna up on friday and took it to London with me for a
festival on Sunday. Same recipie, same time limit everything. Nothing
at all different. Checked it on Saturday evening. Fine the dye had
released (Top was brown and a little fluid .. the usual signs) I put
a bit on my arm and the back of my hand to check the staining power
and went to bed.

The next morning.. today i woke and scratched the henna off to
reveal. NOTHING - no stain sweet F.A. Panic at this point set in as
my festival was in one and a half hours. I had Jamila with me for
sale; but that has a slow release rate as we know. Mixed some up with
lemon and a little hot water, suger tea and cloves and about 2
teaspoons of tea tree (first time using EOs). Put the whole lot into
two cones and stuck them in my cleavage (that's what it's for hehe)
to keep it warm.

What the hell happened and what contingency plan do you all use
especially if you are away from home...
