Please, there is a distinctionPosted by Nick on September 18, 2001 at 16:25:47: In reply to: Re: A Letter from an Afghani-American attorney posted by KIM on September 18, 2001 at 07:11:59: There is a large diference between fair justice and forgiveness. Idid not see any mention of forgiveness in the letter. And i agree, this is not a time for forgiveness. But it is also not a time for blind hatred. And these killings have nothing to do with religion. Bin Laden did not do this because he thinks that it was religiously called for. He did it to send our country into chaos and defeat. And he has not succeeded. On another note, the Muslim population is not to blame for this. Bin Laden does not in any way represent all Muslims. So don't call this a religious conflict, because it's not. The reason that this has escalated into a religious level in our minds is that many ill informed people have made it so. The taliban has only made this worse by declaring a jihad on america. But that is their problem, and not Usama Bin Laden's. Innocents for innocents is not the way to go about it. We must find the root of the problem, and exterminate it. If we simply kill the people of Afghanistan, we will have done nothing to injure Bin Laden. That would not be a solution. Senseless slaughter is not the way to get anywhere but backwards. ~Nick. : We MUST defend this senseless slaughter of INNOCENT Americans. : : To not do so will send the unthinkable message to every psychotic : religious zealot that it's acceptable to kill us because we will not : retaliate. Make no mistake, this is not a time for forgiveness. : : Osama bin-Laden is a MASS MURDERER and we SHOULD and hopefully will : find him, by ANY means nessesary, and exact an appropriate : punishment. : : If we are to remain a free and safe America, WE CAN DO NO LESS.
