I grew up during the Vietman war. I remember seeing the killed and captured stats on the news every night. I remember sitting in front of the tv in shock when 'papa bush' started the gulf war. Now I am watching war again. My eldest nephew will be 18 soon. the next is a year younger. I wonder what my 2 boys will grow up remembering, will they have to watch the body counts? Yes, it all seems hopeless sometimes. But I remember that all those things passed and the world went on. As much as some people want to nuke Afganistan most of us do not. If this does come to a conventional war, which the powers that be say it will not be, it will be most of the world against a few. As to 'Fouledwell', even the fanatical chritians I have talked to think he was way off! So when is that lighting bolt going to hit him? To quote one of the quaint (read : gack!) sayings of my youth: keep on keeping on! j. : Thanks for that. : I needed it. : I know i shouldn't be so pesemistic, but this is the first war that : will stick in my memory, since i don't remember the gulf war. And i : don't like war at all. So i am not very happy about all this, : obviously. I wanted my life to be war-free, but i guess that was : imposible anyway, since conflict is a constant in modern society, and : i just have to accept that. : Well that Reverend Falwell really steams my clams! Blaming it on gays : and lesbians! What a jerk and a half! That is about the most : nonsensical position i have heard on the issue! Grrr.... : ~Nick, who's morning miso is helping him calm down now...
