a more complex equasionPosted by Catherine Cartwright Jones on September 20, 2001 at 21:09:11: In reply to: 50/50 split with salon....a survey posted by Kenzi on September 20, 2001 at 17:42:16: Much depends on the volume of work they can pitch your way, and theprice floor. If they pitch you so much high end work that you're still working at $100 an hour net (gross $200 an hour) then its a good thing. If you're not getting tearass volume of highprice work ..... no good. There are retail situations where high overhead can be absorbed by ultra high volume and high prices (ie a shop stall at Disneyland) and other times when its just a disaster. You'll need to investigate further. And remember, if you DO have high volume and high price floor, you MUST be able to speedsling. If you have to do $200 of henna per hour to make the numbers come out right, you have to be able to DO $200 of henna hour after hour. And, because you're asking people to pay upmarket prices, you have to deliver upmarket quality at that speed! (Pressure? Take a big whiff!)
