I also have been in a henna funk. The attacks here in NYC had a lot to
do with it for me. I feel like doing henna now would be strange
because it is a time of mourning. The other day I found some
beautiful arabic calligraphy for "love, peace" and I printed it out so
I could henna it on my hand when I finally felt like it. Last night I
decided it was time to henna and that we really needed love and peace.
Hennaing wasn't the same joy as it was before the attacks but it did
feel somewhat healing. I, personally, am against war and violence so
I get strength when I see the words in my palm.
