potential Nigerian henna sourcePosted by Catherine Cartwright Jones on October 13, 2001 at 22:17:29: "Marine" pharose@hotmail.comwrote to me some time back. She wishes to export henna from Nigeria to the US. This is her letter to me: "Good day to you, and thank you for your kind reply. Here how it goes. I have noticed how the Henna shrub grows profusely and delivers a sweet fragrance. I have a dozen and a half around my office and half a dozen in my garden. I have seen how my workers decorate their feet and their hands. The principal of my son's school was telling me how the export of the Henna is neglected to the benefit of the onion, pepper, beans etc.. I hit the Net and searched for Henna and got your address. I have been established in Nigeria for 4 decades but with extensive international experience. I have exported some 500 tons of cocoa beans in the past for my previous client, but the cocoa is in the south, a damp, overpopulated area while the Henna, the Tomato, the Onion, the Potatoe, the Pepper, the Sesame Seed, the Gum Arabic, and the Ginger are in the North, a much pleasant area and a very quiet place to live in. I could export to you any part of the Henna tree, or shrub, whether the leaf, the flower, the fruit, branches, or the whole tree, or whatever you would like that is available here. You would have to be specific, so I could clearly follow your guidelines. I can export them by air, by sea container or in some applicable cases by postal airparcel or even courier such as DHL or UPS or the like. I can do the same for the KOHL, if you are interested. Since I have sent over half a dozen messages worldwide, I would be grateful, and it would be helpful to me if you would kindly tell me more about your company, and / or about yourself." I asked her if she would like me to post her information here ... so here it is!
