Ok... call me daft if you like, but I was eyeing this henna book at
Borders for awhile now and finally gave in and payed the $17 dollars
for it in a fit of needing to find designs to offer my best friend
who wants me to do her hands and feet for her wedding (and cause I
just wanted it ^_^ ). Anyhow, I bought the book, took it home and
started my initial skimming of its contents, like I'm sure most of us
henna junkies do, I went straight to the artwork and designs first.
As I looked at them more and more and started to pick them apart in
my mind so that I could re-create them, they started to look eerily
familliar. The style looked familliar, some of the lines, and some of
the concepts. I shrugged it off telling myself that with all the
designs and line art I've browsed, some things are bound to look
familliar. Still not able to shake the feeling I started actually
reading the book and came to the recipes section. After the author's
there was listed "The Tapdancing Lizard's never fail recipe" and
still the daft creature that I am I just blew it off as a nifty
coincidence. When I got to the aftercare and wrapping section it flat
out said "Catherine Cartwright Jones suggests..." and I about died.
The designs I'd been looking at and mulling over were hers! No wonder
they looked familliar *shakes her head at herself* ! So anyhow,
thanks to you Catherine for the artwork in the book "Henna from Head
to Toe" and sorry I didn't recognize your work sooner! *grin* And
anyone looking for a book that's informational and good for starters
design wise (that's if you like doing freehand work like me). Well
thanks again, and I just thought I'd share.
Blessings to all,
Sarah B
