Maybe if less oil was used? Or would that just : make it mix unevenly? Have pastes with differing amounts of oils : been tested? : Lauren My experience has been different than some others', so let me share 'em in case they help. For some terped paste designs, I haven't had the design break down as quickly as some have reported. I did side by side terp and non terp tests all during the summer and often saw no real difference in which degraded faster. I felt the terped designs lasted as long as the nons, gave slightly darker colors and helped spike old psate (I had pastes that were still giving a hearty stain at 2.5 weeks old, refrigerated). Now it may bear to metnion that I was *not* using Cajeput during these results, I was using mostly Tea Tree and some Ravensara. In fact, the ravensara dyed very very fast, and designs that were left on 3 hours were the same in color and longevity, in side by side tests, as the non-terp left on for about 8 hours. I think I also was mixing less terp oil to the paste than was listed in Catherine's recipes. I would use about 10 drops to the j-bottle (1/2 oz). The ravensara I used about 7 drops (precious stuff there). I never felt it mixed unevenly, the only time I had an EO disaster was when I enthusiastically over terped a j-bottle with about 30 drops of tea tree and created a slimy mess of a paste. I would add another 3-5 drops or so about every few days (usually to spike it before I was planning on using some). This kept it going strong until about the 3 week mark. The Cajeput I didnt get my hands on until late August, and since I've been using it, I've noticed some with much darker stains and *slightly* faster desgn breakdowns. Havent had a chance to do much side by side with it. Hope it helps in the grand scheme of comparing results. Imperical knowledge, right?? :)
