a small additionPosted by Maureen on October 28, 2001 at 04:39:16: In reply to: thanks!! and a question..... posted by Sue on October 26, 2001 at 10:39:32: Hi Sue,Catherine provided you with what you need to know. Just a little addition from personal experience. I will sometimes use more fine lines or fine lined motif to connect the bolder shapes and spaces. When I first started doing this I would think the fine lines did not take (immediately following paste removal). I discovered, however that it sometimes took a day for those fine lines and motifs to show up and within two days there were there as vivid as the bold shapes. To hasten their appearance, I will often hold the design over steam. That allows the fine lines to become visible but still it takes another day for them to be there very sharply like the rest of the design. I once went over 3/4 of a design I had done with primarily lacy type lines because it just did not seem to my eye and mind that the design had taken. In going over it I decided to recreate part of it more to my liking. Two days later I had the lines of both designs there with all the lines apparent...resulting in a design that looked like a double exposure. That is when I finally learned. The lines were there but the contrast between the color of the stain and my skin color were too close for me see them until the stain had developed more. Maureen
