This method of straining is supposed to get rid of these, but if they are too big they can block the non-lumpy paste from getting through. Perhaps you didn't mix it as well as you thought...sometimes you mix a lot but don't realize that you missed a pocket of powder. Alissa is also right, that you need to strain the paste in smallish amounts. I can usually strain about 1/2 cup of paste at one time...more than that is too much strain effectively. I just keep straining into the same plastic bag and it goes quickly. Straining using this method should take only about 10 seconds from the time you spoon it in to the time it all squooshes through the stocking into your bag. If it takes longer than that you have too much paste, the powder was too coarse, it is too thick or it isn't mixed well enough. Now that I am adding terps to my paste, I am letting the paste sit overnight (never had to do that pre-terps). I remember way back when that CCJ said that she lets her paste sit overnight and that gives the lumps time to absorb some liquid and dissolve. I have found that my paste is a lot smoother after the overnight sit and it goes through the panty hose much more easily. For anyone who wants to know how this straining method works, check out the link below. There are actually pictures which make the whole thing a little clearer (click on the "henna", then "instructions"). If you will be attending Sirius 2002 NYC in March, i will give a 20 second demonstration to all present, if requested!
