They unscrew the needle to suck up the henna through the larger opening. and they will fill it up several times in a session. It's quite a trick to get the right amount of pressure on the plunger so the henna doesn't come flying out, but when you master it you can lay down some wicked straight lines. It's quite amazing. I have yet to master it because I don't practice...I am afraid that people will freak out if they see the syringe and think that I am going to shoot them full of henna. Perhaps I will try to get some practice and do a demo for everyone at the Sirius NYC. I will have some syringes for people to practice with.
