The Traditional Arts of the Altered Body Conferences for 2010 are ready to go! One conference is in the USA, and one in the UK. These are an expansion and evolution in concept from the previous Henna Page-based henna conferences.

TAAB USA is at the end of March. TAAB UK is at the end of May.

Would you like to present? Would you like to request a presentation? See http://www.thealteredbody.com/taabcallpapers.html Let us know what you've got and what you want!

The Traditional Arts of the Altered Body USA is at Kent State University, Kent, Ohio, Monday, March 29 through Thursday, April 1 with lectures through the day at the University.

There will be an accompanying body art gallery show at Empire: Saturday March 27 to April 3, with demos, fun and henna during the evenings.

This is spring break week for the university, so we have the facilities all to ourselves! More info here: http://www.thealteredbody.com/taabusa.html . Lectures are $25 per day, free with student ID.

Katrin, that would be fabulous, I was hoping you would be able to come back :-) please use the email address above when you email as I think you may have an old email account which I no longer use as it went a bit bonkers just after the last TAAB.

For the US conference ...... there's a hotel in the area which is quite nice, and we use it for business. We'll reserve a block of rooms, see what sort of discount we can get, and then you folks can bunk up ... so, you can save money depending on how good you are at sharing. I'll keep a spreadsheet as usual so people can contact each other for rides, food share, and room share.

So .. with local food shopping, and a $25 per day lecture fee ... this should be a VERY inexpensive, very high quality conference! And .... free with student ID.

Because this is being held at the University ... any student ID will get you in free! I'm not picky about what kind. And, without a student ID, its still inexpensive.

Here's the TAAB USA update with tentative schedule.

Traditional Arts of the Altered Body lecture and event schedule

The evenings should be grand fun, particularly Thursday, live band and monster night!

Let me know if you'd like to attend. Let me know if you'd like to present .... we have two spaces left!

However ...

TAAB UK POSTPONED

Dear all,

I have some sad news, after discussions between CCJ and I, TAAB UK will be postponed to 2011. We both have circumstances that have transpired to make holding the event in 2010 difficult / complicated.

Those of you who have told me you are coming should have received an email from my by now explaining this.

Catherine and I are disappointed to postpone this exciting event, but it does mean that we have more time to plan an even more fabulous event in the UK for 2011.

I will post more news about the 2011 event as soon as I have it.

If you have any questions please do ask me.

Kind regards

Catharine

POSTPONED Traditional Arts of the Altered Body UK is in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, at the Bear Steps Gallery. Conference: Monday, May 31st through Thursday. Gallery show at Bear Steps Gallery: 23rd May to 5th June 2010 POSTPONED
