Hellohohoho Swappers!
Mrs. Shanti Claus here...just stopping in on my way to college. The North Pole college has me loaded down with homework this week (and next).
Lemme start off by saying this nasty disclaimer... If you were part of the swap last year, and you did not send your gift on time like the rules for everyone stated, then do not try to sign up this year. The deadline is there for a reason, and it's really crappy for those who meet the deadline and then are stiffed by their Santa. You and I both know who you are...
That aside here's the rules PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE adhere to them...
1) Gift must be somehow henna related (it's a big category, so don't worry)
2) Gift can be made, purchased, found, reclaimed, recycled, etc.
3) Gift shall have a monetary value of $25.00USD (NO MORE THAN THAT) for the exchange rates in your neck of the woods...try www.xe.com
The value of the gift should not exceed the monetary limit if you were purchasing it retail. Yes 25.00 can go far if you are creative, but you need to put a realistic value on things so that you do not go overboard.
4)You will keep yourself secreted but can reveal who you are with the gift (if you choose too...maybe you really want to be super secret :)
How does this work??
MAKE SURE YOUR SPAM/TRASH/ANY FILTERS accept mail from mrs.claus@magicalmehendi.com !!! VERY IMPORTANT !!!
1) Well, you will email Mrs. Claus' alter ego with:
"hey sign me up for the swap"
I would like USA or Canada or Europe or Anywhere
Your name
Your shipping address
2) start thinking about, or working on, what you would like to gift someone with
3) you will be given a name/address of the person you are a Secret Santa for.
4) ship gift by the APPOINTED TIME I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH
5) come on HP and let your giftee know that Santa is on his way (ok...just do an anonymous post that says you shipped please)
6) just sit back and wait for your 2 gifts to come!

TWO gifts? That's right...TWO. You send one, but recieve two? Yup. The Henna Page Holiday Elf puts together a treat for all the swappers!
Who is eligible?
The HP Holiday Swap began some years back, and is open to all people who post as a member on the HP Forum. You can be any (or no) religion, and celebrate any (or no) holiday. The idea is a fun little gift during the bleak winter months....shared with someone that is a henna freak just like yourself! FUN! So don't stress and start needing to know your giftee's likes/dislikes, favorite colors/animals/plants/etc.
Who is not eligible?
Upper level HP Management
as well as people who did not ship their gifts on time, or at all, last year.
What are the dates to know:
Sign up cut off date: NOV. 20th.
You will receive your Secret Santa assignment by: Nov 23
Ship gift during: week of Nov. 30-Dec. 4
Easy peasy? I hope so.
Now, again, I will harp on the IMPORTANCE of keeping to the dates. Another reason is that Mrs. Claus will be offline and unavailable from Dec 3-Jan 6. So while I am shopping for Mr. Claus' vacation house in the Himalayas (warmer climate ya know), I really need for this to run smoother than ever. I have evil helpers, and I will leave the swap list with them and if there's any kerfuffle the evil elfin squad will publicly 'out' the errant Santas!
So sign up by emailing me here. As I mentioned, I am in college and the next 2 weeks I am bogged down w/ work so it may be a day or two before you get your "gotcha on the list" email.

This is always my favorite time of year, and getting all the goodies. It's always nice to get something fun to cheer you up even when it seems like not much will.
Specially after the year I have had so far.

Yay!!! I will email as soon as I get near a regular pc. This was so much fun last year. It was a bit daunting since it was my first and I wasn't sure what to gift (hope my giftee didn't hate my choice) but this year should be easier :)
There's nothing like henna to take away the "winter, freezing my butt off, can't stand the thought of going in to another store and dealing with rude people blues".

I've moved with small kids while in college, I've moved a mother-in-law in and then out again then moved cause she moved out all within a few months.I'm 40 years old and have moved as many times by my count. There was no time to do an elf book. It's actually quite time consuming to motivate people to do patterns, do them in a way that's consistent and professional, and edit them into a worthwhile presentation. In the last four weeks I made a wedding gown, we had a wedding, a shop opening, got the calendar out, two new product lines out, and I had one spectacular fall that broke my nose and gave me a fascinating concussion. While preparing the PhD proposal, finishing two research papers and studying for comps. Fortunately, I've recovered from all of those, but time was definitely consumed.
However, everyone who's in the gift swap is going to get a never-seen-before collection of henna patterns that is ......... absolutely astonishing. And some other things that will truly improve your quality of life!
Yeh. If you didn't sign up ... you really should have! You're in for some serious jealousy.

I am really bummed i didnt do this, i wanted to but im just not that good yet compared to all of you, sooo i didnt want someone to get my stufff and be like, ewww! Haha im really bummed not to get the design book though so sad : ( but i will for sure do it next year! Especially after going to the spring fling!!

Wow, yes, you've certainly got a full plate, Catherine! It makes total sense that there's no time for the Elf Book. I wouldn't do one either with all of that going on! But it sounds like you've found another fabulous way to wow us - per usual :) I look forward to seeing this pattern collection!
Next year, if you want the multi-contributor Elf Book to live again but find yourself too busy to do it..you have a willing elf to do the busy work.

I have a bone to pick with you! The boys had all sat down to dinner when The Boss paged Rudolph and they all took off, just like that! My roast was ruined, and they're still not back, and we were going to visit my mother in law tonight! I sure hope you didn't get coal, my hubby has a bad back, you know! Now that I think about it, I hate my mother in law, and I can make sandwiches from the roast anyway, so I guess it all works out OK!

I tried writing to the Henna Holiday Elf to inform them that my giftee's package was sent off my Canada Post last night, but got an auto-reply that they are travelling. Anyways, I thought I would post here as well, just in case.
I hope they like their gift package; it's mainly hand-crafted henna-related goodies and a few other things...

This is for TheMissy, a cute little gal in Florida.
Your gift went out on 11.28 so it should be much closer today than it was a week ago. As I recall, you had trouble catching up with your gift last year as the elves seemed to play ping-pong with it between a few locations until you were able to intercept it. Hope that's not the case this year. It should be arriving before long. To be honest, I thought those reindeer would have been there by now.
Ever since they put Blitzen in charge of the route it seems they've been stopping at a few more watering holes and for longer durations of time, if you get my drift. (Most people assume Blitzen got that name for his speed. Not the case. He earned it during his college years.) At any rate, keep an eye and ear out for those flea-bitten, oxen-crossed deer (hence the 'rein' part of the name). They should be arriving soon.

I received it today!!! What a great surprise to come home to... thank you so much and no worries about the card. The jewelry & bindis are lovely & will be put to good use as I am a belly dancer (will probably use them in a performance next week). Love the clip light, I was JUST looking at those in a catalogue today. The mirror is just wonderful & I love the bag it was all in!!! And I will be practicing up on my animals with the Creature Creations book (got that e-mail last night).

Ooooh THANK YOU Santa Deepali!I just had the most wonderful start to my day when I found your gaily wrapped package at my door!I got a beautifully hennaed and bejeweled battery-operated pillar candle and flower hook, both in lovely foiled organza gift bags, 5 packages of little goodies - bindis and tiny sparking henna tattoos, a delicate silver ankle bracelet with bells and tiny turquoise beads, and Starbuck's breakfast blend coffee. It's all piled up beside me in my home office, and the candle is flickering softly - lighting up the smile on my chops! I loved everything in the box - thanks sooo much!

Thank you Secret Santa from Culver City, California! I have no idea who you are as there was no note inside. The pkg arrived in the mail last night. Love the awesome glitters and needed a new adhesive applicator for glitter tats so that worked perfectly. Some neat patterns in the henna pattern book. Thanks for the Shelly henna. Contains the mysterious "mehandi oil" that everyone talks about. Not a bad smell at all! Looking forward to using all of the items! Thanks again!

Don't worry. In all the excitement of the season, your santa probably just forgot to report in with shipping dates, E.T.A.'s and other wholly un-Christmassy technicalities... just like I did! Holy cats, that was fast shipping! Go USPS! So glad you liked them, Nev... I was so tickled to be your Santa :D. As far as the box goes, seal away... but the shading will stay if you scrape the paste off and rub the stain with an ammonia-soaked cotton ball - it will just take a few months to reach its darkest color.

World is full of surprises - I JUST got the call from our post-office and they told me they have a mysterious package for me. My secret santa had forgotten house number - but as Estonia is so small, they deliver everywhere and find out people.

Dear Secret Santa, I've been waiting and waiting for my gift to come. I was so excited to see my name posted first that my gift was on it's way. Do I need to worry? Should I shake down my mail carrier or my neighbors? Is it coming by reindeer from the arctic circle? Did the camel caravan have a layover at the oasis? Is it on THE slow boat from China? Do I need to worry or do I just "chillax" as my now 13 year old says. No Elf gift either. I am being tortured. I AM a PEEKER!

I am not in hurry of getting gift but worried about losing my gift since I am going on vecation next week.

Maybe he had a longish chat with a blonde deer he met? Maybe he drunk a little bit much of the hot spiced wine in the northern villages of Greenland? Maybe the hot springs in Iceland invited him to take a break? 5500 miles is a looong way...

Kelly's Secret Santa sent her gift by Priority Mail on Dec. 1, and it wasn't traveling all THAT far, so Santa is getting a little concerned about whether or not it has arrived.

Thank you so much, my secret Alaskan Santa! Got the package today and was gonna wait till Christmas to open it, but I just couldn't stand it. I love all of the wonderful gifties! Coffee is a big thing at this house, so the wonderful Alaskan assortment you sent (and the wonderful mug to put it in) was a big hit. The teas look tasty, the incense is fabulous & I love the handwarmer! Oh, and the very best part of all... the home canned smoked salmon! Oh my gosh, it's my favorite! It is so, so tasty! You should have received your gift a week ago. Since I have not heard anything back after asking if it was received or not I am beginning to get a bit worried that your gift did not make it to you somehow. If this is the case, please let me know & I can try & track it down or resend something.

Hennacat -- the mail just arrived and how exciting to get a package from Shrewsbury! Everything was so beautifully wrapped and smelled delightful! I love the card and will put it on my wall for inspiration.
Thank you so much for the nice assortment of tea, coffee, henna (my two favorite henna powders!), mocha beans and butter fudge. Both sweets are divine! Caffeine and sugar are my two favorite food groups. How did you know?! :)

Ok, didn't trust Rudolph anymore... went to the post office today and they told me that due to a huge amount of packages (no idea why!) the delivery would be around 15 days! Plus extra time for Rudolph... sigh!

That was so sweet of you to check and post an update for me. I will wait. This is (another) lesson in patience for me. The excitement and anticipation is all part of the fun so I will just enjoy it. After traveling 5500 miles Rudolph will need a pedicure, or is it a hooficure? That doesn't sound right. But I'll treat him right. Maybe a carrot or two. Thanks for the update. Enjoy your holidays.

YEAH! My gift came today all the way from Switzerland and was worth the wait. Thank you Keesah for all your thoughtful gifts. Everything was wrapped so beautifully and carefully. I received a sweet card with a hamsa on the envelope, a large hennaed clothes pin, a sequined journal, some bindis, a fancy paper cutout and a beautiful velvet stocking full of chocolates. When I saw the package had arrived and it was from Switzerland I said to my daughter who had to help me open it. "It is from Switzerland. They are known for Swiss chocolate. Do you think there is any inside?" Here eyes were big and her mouth open for a long pause... "I hope so Mommy!". Of course we had to sample some right away and it was delicious. Thank you again for your generous and thoughtful gift. I love everything. Take a look.

I am so glad you got it. You can use the eyeshadow as is, or you can mix the powders with spiking hair gel to make gilding paste :) This was the first year I didn't know much about my secret santa recipient, so I hoped for the best. Happy hennaing!

It came! I finally got to the post office today, and it was waiting.

I apologize for not being more patient. Oh Holly what a wonderful gift! I got A beautiful Hand of Fatima necklace. And the note that came with it is precious and sorely needed this Christmas. I read it and cried, sheesh! lololol

Okay, HennaBee, I guess there's nothing we can really do until they get everything through. It's still listed as in transit and not stomped on by reindeer so maybe the Mr. didn't destroy it. I hope it gets there soon!!!

We sent all the international gifts out before the US gifts. In previous years, they've arrived quickly. This year, no such luck. Perhaps the reindeer got into the bakhoor and felt warm and comfy and had no more sense of urgency. Hope they arrive .... eventually!

I got my gifts. Oh the Elf Gift was such a treat! I especially love the incense. My office is going to smell so lovely.
Donna/Barefoot, thank you so much for your gifts. I am saving the individually wrapped ones to open on Christmas but I love the little elephant rock paperweights. While we do actually have lots of outdoor festivals in our short summers, I don't do them any more as I just don't enjoy the production line type of hennaing. But they will fit in perfectly with a display of foreign toys and goodies that I have in my office, right next to my Russian and Japanese items lol.
I'll get back to you after Christmas to tell you how wonderful the rest of the things are as I am already sure they are. Thank you so much, both to Donna, Catherine, and the hennapage staff.

i'm glad you liked the gift and i'm realy happy it arived before crissmas. the olive oil is organic extra vergine. it's kind of light at taste and thats what i love about it. the hand is a hamsa as you probelly know. it protects from evel eye.

Oooooooooh!!!!!!!!!!! The watercolor is beautiful! I love it! Thank you for taking the time to create such an awesome gift. (No, I haven't found my initials yet; my 15 year old, who is much more observant than I, hasn't found them yet either! It will be more fun when we do.
And the bindis are lovely; I need to find excuses to wear them, or maybe put them onto some fun projects- I like the way you did that with the matting on the watercolor. And I totally adore the little sticky notes with the henna pattern. Too cool! Thanks again, and best wishes for a wonderful holiday season (my kids are jealous- we don't have any snow) and a blessed and prosperous new year!

Barefoot girl! You're awesome. I loved my gifts but especially the hanging henna sign. Oh now I am going to HAVE to do a festival just so I can show it off lol. It's so cute and eyecatching.
