Trouble
Gorgeous, earthy voice... this album was a real touchstone for me when
I (born in the Appalachians) was living in NYC for a year (really,
really not a big city girl). His lyrics are very intimate, very
heartfelt, and perfect for making art, which is inherently both
intimate and heartfelt. The first three tracks and Hannah are
particular favorites of mine. Ray Lamontagne |

Chinatown
Wow. I love The Be Good Tanyas. Canadian group of three women with an
interest in traditional tunes, Appalachian and beyond, and a lovely,
close harmony. Very different, beautiful voices. The Be Good Tanyas |

The collaboration with Jolie Holland is excellent... perfect for that
long drive on a summer day, or when you wish it was a summer day. The Be Good Tanyas |

Amos Lee So romantic! The Arms of a Woman... sigh. |

Soul Journey
This and "Revival" are wo of my favorite of her albums. Such an
original voice, so curious. Gillian Welch |

Revival
For me, Gillian Welch's songs have the flavor of home, but it's the
edginess of tracks like "Tear My Stillhouse Down" that make her great. Gillian Welch |

Wash Away, Reprise.... breathtaking. Just right for that minute in the
day when everything falls into place, when clarity seems just around
the corner. Joe Purdy |
