it's not working :(

so, i've followed the instructions for the indigo, but, i'm not getting a scum, and when i dip my brush into it, it's clear. what'd i do wrong?

Did you follow the instructions on page 4 of "
Finding Blue ~ Science" or different instructions?
If you can tell me what instructions you used, we can troubleshoot from there.

i followed the instructions on page 4. now, the only things i can think of that could possibly be making this go wrong is A) i only have a cheap shot glass and i'm not sure if it's actually the same measurement of liquid as a normal shot glass, and, b) i don't actually have a teaspoon where i'm currently at, so, i'll give it a go when i get home and i have proper utensils.

Every time I've had someone sit with me in person ... watch the process ... and repeat it ...... has had gonzo results on the first try.
The best I can do is take lots of photos and say "do it this way"

i got it to work. and, yeah, i would definitely be more likely to get good results if i sat down with someone that knew what they were doing. i wound up having to put somewhere around a teaspoon of crystals in the water in order to get results, but, now that i know what i've gotta do, i'll just lower the amount of water i use.
