Gee, I handle those things every day (commonly referred to as a bulb
syringe) and I never though of them for henna. The ones we give out
in the hospital are all one piece of sturdy rubber. Parents sometimes
accumulate several during their stay - maybe you could ask someone
with a baby if they have extra. Or ask someone with a child old
enought to blow if they still have one from the hospital. That would
solve the detaching problem, if it worked well otherwise.
