: i was reading throught this discussion that the Cucumber & Ginseng : mask can help to remove and set henna. is this true? i want to : remove some but i want to make sure that it isn't going to have the : opposite effect. I have yet to find that brand. However: 1. St. Ives *Alpha Hydroxy* exfoliating peel-off masque really seems to exfoliate, which should help you henna fade faster. (It also dissolves Nu-Skin...I tried applying it *just* long enough to dissolve the NS, and it didn't seem any different than the design next to it, NS peeled/oiled off.) (Second note: works nicely as a pre-treatment to remove the whitish skin that makes a henna design seem lighter.) 2. I found a regular (non-exfoliating) mask - it doesn't seem to do anything to help the henna set, but can be used to help seal the paste to keep it in place longer. (Catherine - it only worked for me when the henna was completely dry, and when I used thin enough layers that it dried before soaking into the henna and making mush. For fine lines, it's probably not worth the trouble. I haven't tried mixing with lemon sugar yet, though.)
