: I got my syring at Walmart and it came with a sweet little brush Same here - but it's important to keep the tip fully buried as you suck up the henna, or you get air. If this happens, just tap the syringe lightly, then slowly push the plunger to get rid of the air. When henna starts coming out the tip, stick the tip back into the henna and suck the stuff up slowly, moving the tip around a bit. If I'm using a thicker henna mixture, I tend to expell air every few tries when filling. If the mud is very thin (not my usual preference), I get fewer tunnels and so I don't get air bubbles as often. To fill the bottle with the syringe, at first I just push the plunger, but as the bottle gets half-full, I have to expel the air from the bottle, stick the syringe into the bottle opening, and then release the pressure on the bottle as I push the syringe plunger. This is easier than it sounds, and neater than the other things I've tried. It still takes a few syringe-fulls per small bottle, but that's better than hand-feeding and neater than trying to squeeze the mud in from a plastic bag, given my lack of dexterity. I like the baby-medicine syringe a lot, but can see how it's a highly individual preference.
