Did your package come with instructions, or was it one of those
import store wonders with enigmatic, bizarre, or non-existant
instructions....and it's also possible that the henna was totally
stale.

Get some fresh henna, mix it to the consistancy of goosepoop with
lemon juice, let that sit overnight, and muck it into your hair very
thichly as if you're trying to make a great green guacamole sculpture
of henna and your hair. Let that sit 1/2 hour to 2 hours under saran
wrap. Then rinse it all out. Then bring in a fire hose to clean all
the muck out of the shower.

Henna doesn't dye your hair as much as it stains it. Your original
color will still be there, but with red lusterous tints and
highlights.
