getting ready-first time

on sunday a friend and i will be applying henna for the first time. the past i ordered is pre-mixed,
but what steps do we do before/during/after:
exfoiate & cleanse the skin first,
apply paste,
upon drying-apply lemon sugar mixture & wrap with cotton
* heating pad next? how long?
gently scrape, don't wash for several hours
and enjoy?
I really want this to work, its part of a presentation/project.
any help is greatly appreciated!
