: A.) Hi. : B.) Lamu (my henna plant) got a total of SEVEN NEW LITTLE GROWTHS ON : HIM!! I'M ECSTATIC!! Thanks for the moral support. : C.) One celebrity I would LOVE to see hennaed: Stevie Nicks. It : would be cool if we could put some of this age-old art form into the : Gold Dust Woman's etherial persona!! :) : D.) Question: What is harquus? (Remember, I'm an advancing : novice!!) : Henna Forth, Everyone!! : P.J. A harquus is translated to "black cosmetic". I think cosmetic is the better term. It is a facial tattoos to ward off the evil eye. It is done mostly, in Berber, Bedoiun cultures and is permitted by Islam. Harquus would be made with ash, pitch, walnut skins, black kohl powder, India ink, apices etc. But in the 90's and in the Western society liquid black eyeliner works the same way. It is temporary like henna. Harquus would mostly be placed on the chin, forhead, or cheeks. This is mostly seen in North Africa but not specifically Morocco. Kenzi & Catherine can also give explanations in more depth. Congrats on your henna blooms.... Blessings, Christine
