That is one cool and enlightened woman! I had no idea she said
that. I remember back in the early days of living in Morocco, still
culture shocked and figuring out Islam, I met an American woman who
was married to a Palestinian. I asked her, basically, "why in the
h*ll did you marry a muslim". And she said something to me that
struck me then, even in my ignorance, and still sticks with me; she
said that the best kind of man to marry is a truly good muslim. I
guess you could say that about anyone of any religion...if they are
truly good, that's it, they are good.
The complications begin when people start making extreme
interpretations of various religions and carry it too far.
