: : I think it distracts the students. (snip) : : On the other hand, a ring-like design in an ordinary ring place : will : : probably not be distracting for long enough to matter. : When I was working with the younger elementary-aged students, the : henna was definitly a distrations and was usually hidden under my : brace; but a fair amount of the kids would come to school covered in : the decal "tattoos" which can be pretty distracting for the teacher, : especially when one is on a child's face or hands. The older kids : don't seem to care that much. One even told me I wore a brace to : keep the "tattoo" (henna) from rubbing off. : C'est la vie. : Anne When I helped in the class of my 5 year old, my hennaed hands sent the kids into a question frenzy, so, so the teacher could get on with it, I had to sit there and tell them the what's and why's.. I told them that the henna was to make me pretty, like some Mum,s who wore lipstick.. That thay understood. My 9 year old has got it sussed how to wear a design on his had in class, and the teacher never sees it. The dress codes seem to be pretty extreme these days even in primary school.
