You're welcome for the instructions. :) Tincture's, huh? Is that Rubbing Alcohol you use for that? I've always wondered. I bet it wouldn't work for henna, because I'm pretty sure that Alcohol is a base, and Henna needs acid to release dye. (Anyone can comment on that, that's purely congecture.) My brother told me that you can make a tincture, and freeze it. Supposedly, the essential oil freezes to the top and you can catch it that way. LOL. No no no. I think the word you're thinking of is "Masticate." THAT means to chew. Macerate means to steep, I believe. Certainly a reusable coffee filter will work. Anything that will catch the herb, and allow the oil to slip through. BE CAREFUL EVEN WHEN GROWING MINT AND CATNIP (Yes, bad tea!) IN POTS!! I did that once, and without me knowing it, the roots grew out through the hole in the bottom, and went into the ground through the crack spaced beneath the cement tiles of my back patio. The next thing I knew the entire sidewalk was devoid of dandelions and overrun with minty cracks!! I would love to hear of your results with Mint Oil whenever you have the chance to experiment. Keep me updated, and I will be sure to do the same should I get a chance to play around with the idea.
