: Tincture's, huh? Is that Rubbing Alcohol you use for that?
I've tried rubbing alcohol to get a lilac scent - it showed promise,
but the lilac scent just didn't hang around long enough to make it
worth the alcohol smell. Vodka is actually a better choice, and
more solid smells like orange or lemon (I tried pine but the bottle
top was loose, so I don't know if it would have worked).

You're probably right about the acid. Could mix henna with lemon
juice, get the dye out, then dump it in alcohol, but that might
oxidize the dye.

: Supposedly, the essential oil freezes to the top and you can catch
: it that way.

Hmmm...that's a thought.

: LOL. No no no. I think the word you're thinking of is "Masticate."
Riiight - must've been half asleep. Oh, well. It took me a few days,
but I *finally* remembered another word I've been trying to recall:
palimsest (spelling may be off). People were complaining about
lacking skin to do more henna designs, and it seemed to fit.
