Carbonation would do this - I doubt if anything else would. I'm
wondering if the additional action helps break the henna cell walls
and release the dye more quickly. I also wonder if this might result
in the very light green paste cited sometime back, that everyone was
trying to figure out - I'd think the odor would be distinct, though.
