Early palmistry

I was reading a book on early palmestry, and it saying that in India
palmistry was very highly regarded as an art. In paintings and
sculptures of Gods/Goddesses the artist was always sure to make the
palms lines and symbols in no way resemble lines found on real life
palms so as not to predcit their fate. I was wondering if any of
the "palm lines and designs" ever found their way into henna
traditions, as some of the designs you see on sculptures and
paintings are barely more than a line or two, but they are definately
done with henna as they are shown red..Has anyone ever read this,
Is there a conection do you think?
