I did professional palmistry about 30 years ago, and still
occasionally teach classes in it .... I think henna patterns are
connected with a fundamentally different set of visual symbols than
palmistry. If there's a relationship, I sure haven't been able to
find it.
There is a Arab/Yemeni tradition of putting a lump of henna paste in a
brides hand, binding her hand into a fist and when unbound, the local
wise grandma looks for "lucky star" patterns in the hennaed palm ...
but that's as close as I've ever found for connections between
palmistry and henna.
