I have to agree with you Jewel. I would only call it a tattoo
because some people here in the US don't have any other reference
point for understanding what mehndi/henna is. And many times people
who ask don't have time to hear anything beyond a word or two (I do
live in NYC!). Usually though, I do have time to tell them more
because the person has made the effort to ask, so they usually have
the time and the curiousity to learn more.
