Well, I know that it's make-up for the movie. I was just wondering if
that is what it represented. I doubt that the cast would have gone to
the extent of ammoniafying themselves just for the war scenes...

as for the Ancient Romans and Greeks and their view on women... well,
they are considered ancient for a reason, aren't they? *evil little
