Dear Catherine, THANKS for the info, I have seen the Kama Sutra and i just LOVE the movie, both for the Mehndi and it's also a tearjerker. As for the Painted Bride, i've come across the title at the library here but alas they didnt have it available for me, I will contact Matty and maybe we can work something out. I have a ton of Mehnddi Literature that i've gathered over the past year and i've summed it up and typed up my own little folder that i use for my presentations. The kind of video that i was looking for would be mainly to show how it is applied by others as well as maybe a "show and tell" kinda video. So that the people who show up at my demo can see not only me (unless i bore them to death =) but also others and how they apply it , as well as the History. As for holding the attention of a group of people...I'm hoping that my love of Mehndi will show in my face and they will understand and...listen! : Matty Jankowski at New York Body Archive, 9 Ninth Ave., NY, 10011, : 212-807-6441 has "The Painted Bride" which is a lovely documentary : video about a Pakistani Mehandi artist in Queens, her hennaeing work : and her own henna party for her wedding. Blockbuster and such have : Kama Sutra which has a nice hennaeing scene, and red hands all over : the place. : Using a video in class, generally.....it can be good, or not....just : like high school, student's attention tends to wander when the film : goes on....if you can impart all the same information without the : video, it makes a better lecture.....How much hard information do you : have on hennaeing and how well can you hold the attention of a group : of people? If you're not an experienced lecturer, or if you're short : on info...do get the video.
