I know I have posted this suggestion before, but here is how I make my transfers. Get a medium or soft charcoal pencil from the art/craft store, and tracing paper. Trace your design with these making sure to lay down a good amount of coal on the paper (keeping in mind that whatever you trace will come out backwards when applied, so reverse letters or chinese characters first), give the skin a quick swipe with alcohol (not too wet), apply transfer coal side down and peel it up. Ta Da! A clear, dark line to follow. The charcoal is powdery enough that the henna soaks through it great, the pencils & paper are cheap, the paper is nice & thin so it goes around curves well. It is great to be able to exactly copy the designs from my book so the customer gets exactly what they want, and if they don't like the placement of the design you can move it BEFORE any henna goes on! You can also sketch right on the skin with the charcoal pencils for guidence if you are wingin' it. I'd like to try the embroidery pencil too, and see how it works for me. Maybe I'll like it better.
