Get a medium or soft charcoal pencil from the art/craft : : store, and tracing paper. Trace your design with these making sure : to : : lay down a good amount of coal on the paper (keeping in mind that : : whatever you trace will come out backwards when applied, so reverse : : letters or chinese characters first), give the skin a quick swipe : with : : alcohol (not too wet), apply transfer coal side down and peel it up. : Ta : : Da! A clear, dark line to follow. The charcoal is powdery enough : that : : the henna soaks through it great, the pencils & paper are cheap, the : : paper is nice & thin so it goes around curves well. It is great to : be : : able to exactly copy the designs from my book so the customer gets : : exactly what they want, and if they don't like the placement of the : : design you can move it BEFORE any henna goes on! You can also : sketch : : right on the skin with the charcoal pencils for guidence if you are : : wingin' it. I'd like to try the embroidery pencil too, and see how : it : : works for me. Maybe I'll like it better.
