Are Henna leaves sensitive to light and air during drying?

My dear little Lamu (henna plant)is growing up! (Sniff) He is
prospering greatly, and I have read that it is best to harvest henna
leaves from him when he is in full bloom. However, I have never
dried leaves myself. Do you know if there is a special method to
drying leaves? One thing I'm concerned about is whether or not I
should keep them in the dark or something. Do you know if they are
sensitive to that while drying? Any help would be great!!
