Food color testsPosted by james on April 07, 2000 at 22:32:14: I tested how black food color would work, and I got some strange results. At first I tested by just rubbing the food color in, and then tryied to wash it, and all I got was a light stain the lasted a couple of hours. Next I tried to rub it in, and add lemon juice, this time when i washed it off, I was left with a dark pink/purple color, and this has lasted 3 days and counting. Can anyone tell me why it left that color, and how can I make it so it stains the same color as the food color? (p.s, the ingredients for this brown food coloring was: sorbitol, glycerine, water, f.d.&c. blue#1, red#3, yellow#5 and yellow#6)
