: I, too, started with a kit...and now I know the instructions were : insanely off-base! The mix was fine -- nicely acidic and the henna : was only slightly stale, but the instructions said to leave the paste : on for half an hour! : Leave the paste on overnight for best results. And be sure to wrap up : that design with some cotton, toilet paper, bandages, whatever to : 1)seal in the henna close to your skin for better contact and warmth : 2) keep the henna crumbs from getting all over your sheets (they will : stain any natural fiber if damp...) : Best of luck to you, and let us know how it went. Thanks for all your great information! I tried my kit last night on myself, my daughter and husband! They were all okay but my daughters (a band around the ankles) didn't seem to come out as well. In fact it was very dificult to use the transfers on the skin to follow the patterns. I ended up doing it free hand. I used the cone but would like to get a stick or a thin brush where I have more control and control of the thickness of the lines. Does most of you use free hand? If not, is there a better pattern than the one you rub on? Thank you for all your great ideas!
