Scars - How does henna react to them?

I have a friend that wants a design on her foot. She has extensive scarring from multiple surgeries. Will the henna take to scar tissue? Can it have adverse affects on the scar tissue? I would appreciate any information that anyone could give me (factual or speculation). Thank you!
